Ron Bass has been named the new football coach at Clinton High School.

Clinton Athletic Director Matt Koeppel made the announcement Wednesday afternoon and cites Coach Bass's successful tenure at Tri-Valley High School as the team's defensive coordinator.

Coach Bass will be an eighth-grade teacher and Koeppel believes having him in the hallways of the junior high school will be a huge plus in recruiting kids to the program. Koeppel says an initial meet-and-greet with Coach Bass was very successful. 

Koeppel hopes in June to have a meet-the-coach night where the community can come in and meet Coach Bass. He says this could be beneficial as the summer programs get started very soon and increase interest in the program.
