Tuscola Blanks Clinton in Boy's Baseball Action

Cole Cunningham threw six shutout innings as Tuscola used a balanced offensive attack to beat Clinton 11-0 in Central Illinois Conference boy's baseball action Monday afternoon at Clinton High School.

 

The Maroons were unable to take advantage of six errors committed by the Warriors, managing just three hits, highlighted by a Mason Walker double.

 

Cunningham issued a walk and struck out five. Brooks Cluver allowed six runs, three were earned in 2 2/3 innings. He walked three, struck out one and allowed seven hits. Benjamin Atkins allowed four runs, three were earned in 2 1/3 innings of relief. He allowed five hits and issued two walks. Walker allowed a run in an inning of relief. 

 

Haven Hatfield paced the Warriors' offense going 3-for-5 with a double and two runs batted in. Colton Musgrave was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Patrick Pierce finished 3-for-4 and Peyton Armstrong went 2-for-4. 

 

The Maroons drop to 3-7 overall while Tuscola improves to 8-6. 

 

The Maroons host Decatur St. Teresa this afternoon.
