Maroons Fall To Seneca, 50-10

In a game heard on WHOW Friday night, the Clinton Maroons fell to the visiting Seneca Fighting Irish, 50-10.

 

Seneca opened up the scoring with big touchdown runs of 44 & 80 yards on their first two possessions, and didn't look back from there.    The Irish were led by sophomore quarterback Nathan Grant, who went 2 for 2 passing for 83 yards & a touchdown.  He also ran 4 times for 107 yards & a score.  Seneca's Braden Ellis ran 5 times for 131 yards and a score.  Collin Wright added 6 carries for 81 yards and a TD.  

 

Clinton's quarterback Ethan Boyer went 9 of 18 for 154 yards, a TD, & 3 interceptions.  He carried the ball 6 times for 44 yards.

 

The WHOW/Maroons ServPro of Piatt/DeWitt County "Player of the Game" was awarded to senior Clinton wideout Adam Kroeger.  He had 4 catches for 114 yards & a touchdown.   Tristin Potts finished with 21 carries for 42 yards.  Makayla Koeppel also added a 23 yard field goal for the Maroons.

 

Clinton falls to (1-5) with the loss.  Seneca improves to (2-4) with the win.  Clinton was originally scheduled to play Tuscola for Senior Night, however the Warriors had to cancel Thursday due to Covid protocols.  The Maroons were able to put together the game with Seneca in under 24 hours. 

 

The Maroons host Warrensburg-Latham for Homecoming next Friday night.  Hear the game at 7pm on all WHOW platforms!
