The Monticello Sages will begin what is expected to be a real test as they enter the final third of its regular season tonight when they travel to Paxton to take on Paxton-Buckley-Loda in Illini Prairie Conference football action.
Monticello blanked Rantoul 28-0 last Friday and Coach Cully Welter says sometimes you think you played a good game and then the film shows things you can work, but like last Friday, you think you didn't play a good game but the film shows otherwise.
Monticello meets up with PBL, Prairie Central and Tolono Unity to finish out the season and the three teams at the top of the conference with Monticello so far. Coach Welter says they'll be challenged by the Panther's size and the diversity of its offense.
Coach Welter feels it will be somewhat of an advantage for his team that they have to practice against a multiple formation offense that he runs.
