Clinton High School Football Coach Focusing on Next Year

It's not often you hear a coach outright say they are moving on to see what they have for the next year but that's essentially what Clinton High School's football coach is doing as the Maroons are out of playoff contention and enter the final third of the regular season hosting Warrensburg-Latham tonight in Central Illinois Conference high school football action at Clinton High School for Homecoming.

It will be an interesting game as Coach Ron Bass says he'll have two different groups playing. He's going to having a mostly seniors group and then the rest of the team that will be returning next year.

The Maroons hosted Seneca last week as Tuscola had to cancel due to COVID in its program. Despite the lopsided score, Coach Bass was pleased with the continued fight his kids showed.

The Cardinals enter play tonight among four teams at 4-2 trailing Decatur St. Teresa in the Central Illinois Conference. Game time tonight is 7:05 pm and can be heard on WHOW, online at dewittdailynews.com, on the WHOW mobile app and at Amazon Alexa.
