Monticello Falls to No. 8 in 3A After Friday Night Loss

The Monticello Sages have tumbled all the way to No. 8 in the latest AP high school football Class 3A polls.

 

Monticello lost 16-15 Friday night at Paxton-Buckley-Loda. Wilmington and IC Catholic received the first place votes to come in at 1-2, respectively. Williamsville and Byron jumped Tolono Unity to round out the top five. 

 

Princeton and Farmington are sixth and seventh and Mt. Carmel and Durand return to the poll to round out the top ten. 

 

In Class 1A, Carrollton jumped Lena-Winslow for the No. 1 spot. Abingdon, Camp Point Central and Fulton round out the top 5. Forreston, Ottawa Marquette, Central A&M, St. Bede and Aurora Christian round out the top 10.

 

In 2A, Decatur St. Teresa remains the unanimous No. 1 followed by Breese Mater Dei, Tri-Valley, Maroa-Forsyth and Bismarck-Henning. Pana, Knoxville, Athens, Bishop McNamara and Clifton Central round out the top 10.

 

Joliet Catholic is the unanimous No. 1 in 4A. Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin, Richmond-Burton, Kewanee, and Genoa-Kingston round out the top 5. 

 

Chicago Phillips, St. Francis, Coal City, Stillman Valley Peoria Notre Dame round out the top 10.

 

In 5A, Rochester is the unanimous No. 1 team. Mahomet-Seymour stays at No. 6 and Peoria moves up a spot to No. 7. 

 

East St. Louis is the No. 1 team in 6A.

 

Normal Community stayed put at No. 7 in the latest 7A poll with Batavia taking over No. 1 in the latest poll. 

 

Loyola is the unanimous No. 1 in 8A.
