Clinton High School Cross Country Squad Heads to Conference Meet Today

The Clinton Maroons cross country teams will hit the road this afternoon for the Central Illinois Conference meet in Tuscola.

Co-head coach Rachel Anderson-Lyons says this is the championship phase of their season. She points out this year's team has a lot of female runners.

According to Coach Anderson-Lyons, sophomore runner Drew Moser has shown the most progress from his time running as a freshman. She credits his work ethic in the off-season and his leadership in setting the example for young runners.

Co-head coach Leanne Sosamon says the girl's team has a dynamic trio for its top 3 runners. Coach Sosamon says Lexi Lord, MaKayla Koeppel, and Claire Holland have a great chance to lead the Maroons to state this year.

The Maroons head to the Conference meet at Wimple Park in Tuscola. After the conference meet, the Maroons head to the post-season and Regionals.
