The Meridian Hawks don't get the opportunity to compete in the postseason often so they are excited for the opportunity to take on Athens Saturday afternoon at 1 pm.

Coach Micah Sheppard says this is a senior-heavy group. His focus with his teams is to play to the strengths of his players.

The Hawks win over Shelbyville was perhaps the game that allowed them to qualify for the postseason. Coach Sheppard says coming out of its 1-5 spring COVID season, they felt good about the opportunity this year with so many players returning.

Coach Sheppard says injuries have been something they've had to deal with all year. He is hoping they are going to have some of those kids that have been injured back this weekend. Athens is 8-1 out of the Sangamo Conference.
