Clinton Lady Maroons Top Tri-Valley In Season Tipoff

In a game heard Monday night on WHOW; the Clinton Lady Maroons opened the 8th Annual Turkey Tussle Tournament with a 63-35 win over Tri-Valley.

 

The Lady Maroons jumped out to a 19-10 lead after the first quarter.  They outscored the Vikings 22 to 7 in the second quarter to pull away to a  41-17 lead at the half.  

 

Clinton was led by the Serv-Pro of Piatt & DeWitt County Player of the Game Mallory Cyrulik.  The senior forward led all scorers with 27 points, and went 9 of 14 at the free-throw line.   Senior guard Kaitlin Rauch added 18 for the Lady Maroons, while sophomore Heidi Humble had 9 points.

 

Tri-Valley was led by Addison Ritchie with 17, and Kelsey Bartels with 8.

 

Both teams are back in action Tuesday night at Clinton High School as part of the Turkey Tussle.  Clinton plays Dee-Mack at 7pm, while Tri-Valley plays PORTA Tuesday at 5:30pm.
