UPDATED: Lady Maroons Surge Past Heyworth

In a game heard Tuesday night on WHOW, the Clinton Lady Maroons topped the Heyworth Hornets 59-30.

Clinton won their second road game of the week thanks to a second-half surge led by strong full-court defense.   Clinton only led by three, 22-19, at the half; however, they outscored Heyworth 21-3 in the third to pull away.

Mallory Cyrulik led all scorers with 26 points.  The WHOW/Serv-Pro of Piatt-Dewitt County Player of the Game - Kaitlyn Rauch - added 21 for the Maroons as well.

Brooke Manteggia led Heyworth with 11, while Ava Longfellow added 8 for the Hornets.

Clinton improves to 5-1 with the win, while Heyworth falls to 2-4.   Clinton next travels to Tuscola Thursday night to open CIC conference play.

Our next Maroons broadcast comes up Friday night when the Clinton boys host Maroa-Forsyth.  Tipoff is set for 7:30 Friday night on WHOW.
