Blue Ridge Clamps Down to Rally Past DeLand-Weldon

The Blue Ridge Knights overcame a slow start and rallied past DeLand-Weldon 56-50 in non-conference high school boy's basketball action.


Jumpstarted by three three-pointers in the first quarter, the Eagles raced to a 16-8 lead after the first and led 29-25 at the intermission but the Knights held D-W to just four field goals in the third quarter and balanced scoring all night allowed Blue Ridge to get out to a 39-35 lead.


Blue Ridge used three three-pointers in the fourth quarter to pull away with the win.


Zach Lewis led the Knights with 18 points. Corbin Colbert added 11 points while Ty Meeker scored ten and Wyatt Cole finished with nine points.


The Knights move to 1-4 on the season and will take on Donovan Friday.
