Lady Maroons Drop Central A&M; Win 7th Straight

In a game heard on WHOW Thursday night, the Clinton Lady Maroons dropped the Central A&M Lady Raiders by a score of 51 to 21.  The thirty point victory was the seventh straight for Clinton.

Both teams started slow, but the Lady Maroons were able to put together a 23-8 halftime lead.  They continued to build on it from there; primarily led by tough defense and Mallory Cyrulik inside.  The Clinton senior led all scorers with 24 points, and also went 10 of 10 at the free throw line.

Clinton was also aided by some great defense from the Maroons Serv-Pro of Piatt & DeWitt County Player of the Game - sophomore Heidi Humble.  In addition to being the only other player in double figures with 10 points, Humble also came up with numerous steals throughout the game.   Kylie Raymer added 8, and Kaitlyn Rauch added 7 for Clinton.

Central A&M was led by Jilyan Burgener with 9 points.

Clinton improves to 9-1 overall, and 2-0 in the Central Illinois Conference.  They next play Saturday afternoon at Pana.  The next Lady Maroons broadcast on WHOW takes place at 6p next Thursday at Argenta-Oreana.

Central A&M falls to 4-7 overall with the loss, and 1-1 in the CIC.
