Clinton Takes Two At Argenta-Oreana

In a special double header broadcast Thursday night on WHOW, the Clinton girls and boys basketball teams both picked up wins on the road at Argenta-Oreana Thursday night.

 

The Lady Maroons were dominant in the opening game of the night, topping the Lady Bombers 52 to 12.  Clinton held Argenta scoreless until well into the second quarter.  Mallory Cyrulik led all scorers with 23 points.  The Serv-Pro of Piatt & DeWitt County Maroons Player of the Game was Kylie Raymer, who added 9 points for Clinton.

 

The Clinton girls improve to 12-2 on the season, and next host El Paso-Gridley Monday night in a game to be heard on WHOW.  Argenta-Oreana falls to 0-10 on the season.

 

*** In the second game of the night, the Clinton Maroons topped Argenta-Oreana 64-54.

 

Clinton led throughout, but the Bombers kept it close in a tough, physical game that saw five technicals be called on the two teams.  The Maroons were led by the Serv-Pro of Piatt & DeWitt County Maroons Player of the Game Dawson Graves, who led all scorers with 28 points.  Mason Walker added 15, and Trevor Scott added 10.

 

The Bombers were paced by Landon Lawson with 21, and RJ Trostle with 13 points. 

 

Clinton improves to 3-8 with the win.  Argenta-Oreana falls to 0-3 with the loss.

 

The Maroons next host Blue Ridge on Wednesday at 3:30 in the afternoon.  That game will be heard on WHOW.
