Clinton Hosts Blue Ridge Tonight at Clinton High School

'The War on 54' returns this afternoon when the Clinton Maroons boy's basketball team hosts Blue Ridge for an afternoon matinee.

You have to go back to November of 2018 when the two DeWitt County rivals last matched up in a 46-35 win for the Knights at the Cerro Gordo Thanksgiving Tournament. Prior to that, the two sides matched up at the former Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis in December of 2014, a 57-55 for the Maroons.

The last time the game was played in DeWitt County, Blue Ridge rolled Clinton 73-50 in a win at Blue Ridge High School in December of 2013.

The Knights are led by former Maroons Colten Reeves who has his team at 2-7 on the season. Most recently, they fell to Armstrong Monday, 70-32. The Knights have battled a couple of bouts with COVID this season, limiting their floor time so far.

As for Clinton, the Maroons are coming off a contentious 64-54 win over Argenta-Oreana last Thursday in Argenta.

The win improved the Maroons to 3-8 overall.

Game time this afternoon is at 3:30 pm. Hear the action on The Big 1520 AM/92.3 FM/106.5 FM WHOW and online at dewittdailynews.com, the WHOW Mobile App and at Amazon Alexa.
