Egan Franzen scored 16 of his 26 points in the first half helping propel Maroa-Forsyth past Riverton 70-59 in the first game of the Decatur St. Teresa Holiday Tournament Tuesday night.
The Trojans opened up a 31-21 halftime advantage thanks to eight points in each frame from Franzen. Kaiden Maurer scored all 12 of his points in the second half and Zayn Giles added 14 for Maroa-Forsyth.
Garrett Yard scored 20 points for the Hawks while Zach Hines added 18 points.
The Trojans are now 6-3 overall. They will take on Heyworth in the second game of the tournament tonight at 7:30 pm.
