GCMS Rallies Past Clinton at Monticello Holiday Hoopla

GCMS used a big second half to stifle the Clinton Maroons 58-52 in day one action from the Monticello Holiday Hoopla.

 

The Maroons used a big 14-4 second quarter to open a 29-20 lead at halftime but GCMS rallied with the second half and the Clinton struggled to score late allowing the Falcons to hold on.

 

Mason Walker led all scorers with 24 points for Clinton. Brooks Cluver added 11 points. 

 

The Maroons shot just 3-for-17 from the floor in the fourth quarter and went 0-for-7 from distance. They shot 36-percent for the game and finished 8-for-27 from three for the game.

 

The Falcons didn't shoot much better, scoring at only a 43-percent clip and went 3-for-13 from three but dominated the glass 43-25 and finished 17-for-24 at the foul line. GCMS grabbed 14 offensive rebounds. 

 

GCMS improves to 6-4 overall while Clinton drops to 4-9.
