Lincoln Girl's No. 6 in 3A High School Basketball Polls

The Lincoln Lady Railsplitters are No. 6 in the first high school girl's basketball poll of 2022. 

 

Off to a 15-2 start, the Lady Railsplitters have broken in to the top 10 after starting the season unranked. Geneseo is No. 1 in 3A followed by Morton, Peoria Central, Bethalto Civic Memorial and Syamore rounding out the top 5.

 

After Lincoln, Chicago Heights Marian Catholic, Metamora, Nazareth and Mattoon round out the top 10. Peoria Notre Dame and Washington received votes in the 3A poll. 

 

In Class 2A, Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond ties at No. 9 in the first poll of the new year. Winnebago is the No. 1 team in 2A, followed by Quincy Notre Dame, Paris, Illini West, and Teutopolis.

 

Fieldcrest is No. 6 followed by Carterville and Chicago Noble Street Butler. In the 2A poll, Pana, Eureka, and St. Joseph-Ogden received votes.

 

In Class 1A, Brimfield is the No. 1 team followed by Okawville, Mendon Unity, Shiloh and River Ridge. 

 

Cowden-Herrick, Brown County, Serena, and Havana are six through nine while Neoga and Carlyle tied for tenth. 

 

In the girl's 4A poll, Normal Community tied for eighth with Lyons in this week's poll. Chicago Benet Academy is No. 1 followed by Chicago Stevenson, Hersey, Kenwood and Loyola Academy. 

 

Edwardsville tied with Fremd for No. 6 and Bollingbrook is No. 10 in this week's poll.
