Monticello Checks In At No. 6 in Latest High School Basketball Polls

Thanks to winning its first 14 games on the season, the Monticello Sages check in at No. 6 in the first high school boy's basektball poll of the 2022.

 

The Sages lost Tuesday night to Teutopolis who is No. 7. Chicago Orr is the No.1 team in 2A followed by DePaul College Prep, Nashville, Chicago Leo and Clark. 

 

After Monticello and Teutopolis, Breese Central, Murphysboro and El Paso-Gridley rounds out the top 10 for 2A. St. Joseph-Ogden, Warrensburg-Latham, and Tolono Unity received votes in the latest poll.

 

Meridian out of the Central Illinois Conference is No. 3 in the 1A poll. Yorkville Christian and Fulton are 1-2, respectively. South Beloit and Scales Mound round out the top 5. 

 

Peoria Christian checks in at No. 6 followed by Liberty at No. 7 and Madison and Steeleville tie for No. 8 and Tuscola is No. 10 in this week's poll. 

 

Cerro Gordo-Bement just missed the top 10 this week while Champaign St. Thomas More and Okaw Valley also received votes in 1A.

 

In Class 3A, Chicago Simeon is the unanimous No. 1 followed by Chicago Mt. Carmel, Hillcrest, Hyde Park and East St. Louis. 

 

Peoria Notre Dame is No. 6 while Burlington Central and Springfield Sacred Heart Griffin tie at No. 7 with Decatur MacArthur and Centralia rounding out the top 10.

 

Metamora and Lincoln missed the top 10 but received votes.

 

Glenbard West, Kenwood, Glenbrook South, Chicago Curie and Chicago Whitney Young are the top 5 in 4A. Normal Community, New Trier, Wheaton Warrenville South, Chicago Larkin and Homewood-Flossmoor round out the top 10 in 4A.
