Clinton High School Basketball Coach Seeing Progress from Young

At 6-13, the Clinton varsity boy's basketball team has had a tough season so far but the young Maroons are showing signs of progress.

That's according to second-year head coach Dan Luketich following his team's 79-47 loss to Monticello Tuesday night. The final score would not be indicative of just how well the Maroons played against the sixth-ranked Sages.

Coach Luketich recognizes the message of the team getting better despite the wins not coming with that progress can be tough. He believes the kids are starting to see things working that they want to do.

Coach Luketich says he wants to continue to practice like it is a game situation.

The Maroons are a very young group, starting sophomores Mason Walker and Brooks Cluver. Trevor Scott and Brett Young start as juniors and offer defensive toughness along with freshman Colton Walker.

Sophomore Dawson Graves has been sidelined for several weeks with a knee injury and was one of the Maroons' most consistent scorers prior to his injury.

Additionally, Anthony Westbrooks and Khanton Wilson are promising young freshmen getting varsity minutes this season.
