Bulls Sign Former Illini Standout Hill to 10-Day Contract

The Chicago Bulls expect forward Derrick Jones Jr. to miss two to four weeks because of a bone bruise in his right knee.

Jones was injured in the opening minute Wednesday night in a 138-112 home loss to the Brooklyn Nets. He twisted his knee when he pulled up near the Chicago basket and had to be helped to the back.

Jones has started eight of the 31 games he has played and is averaging 6.3 points in his first season in Chicago.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter reported yesterday with the Jones injury news, the Bulls are expected to sign Malcolm Hill to a ten-day contract. Hill recently spent time with Atlanta on a 10-day contract and averaged 5.7 points and 2.0 rebounds in 15.3 minutes per game across three appearances. He'll offer depth for the Bulls since Derrick Jones (knee) is slated to miss several weeks.

Hill was a standout at Illinois and will be united with former Illini All American Ayo Dosonmu.

The Bulls lead the Eastern Conference at 27-12. They host Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors on Friday night
