Monticello Falls Short Against Prairie Central

In a game heard on 95.9 FM WEZC and online at dewittdailynews.com, Chloe and Mariya Sisco led three scorers in double figures for Prairie Central as they downed Monticello 58-32 in Illini Prairie Conference girl's basketball action from the Sievers Center at Monticello High School.

 

Chloe Sisco hit back-to-back three's in the third quarter that extended a 37-28 lead to 43-28 and it was all Lady Hawks the rest of the way as Monticello was 20-10 in the third quarter and the Lady Hawks held the Lady Sages scoreless in the fourth quarter.

 

Chloe Sisco led all scorers with 16 points, Mariya Sisco added 15 points and sophomore Gillian Davies added 10 points. 

 

Renni Fultz led Monticello with 10 points. Hannah Swanson added eight points while Lizzie Stiverson scored six points, all in the second quarter.

 

Monticello freshman Megan Allen was the Piatt/DeWitt County ServPro Player of the Game with five points and showed a nice complimentary rebounding presence along with Fultz.

 

The Lady Sages drop to 14-9 overall and will travel to St. Joseph-Ogden Thursday. The next Monticello girl's basketball broadcast will be Monday, January 31 when they host Pontiac in Illini Prairie action.
