Maroa-Forsyth Rolls Auburn

Four players scored in double-figures and Maroa-Forsyth exploded offensively to roll past Auburn 75-60 in Sangamo Conference high school boy's basketball at Auburn High School Friday night.

 

Egan Franzen scored 11 of his 22 points in the first quarter. Kaiden Maurer scored 11 of his 14 points in the second quarter, Ethan Willoughby scored all 14 of his points in the second half and Jaxson Grubbs scored 11 of his 14 points in the second half. Willoughby drained a team-high four three-pointers. Zayn Giles added eight points.

 

After leading 18-16 after the first quarter, the Trojans opened up a 36-27 lead at the break and then pulled away in the fourth quarter. 

 

The Trojans improved to 12-5 overall and are 3-0 in the Sangamo Conference. Maroa-Forsyth will travel to Decatur St. Teresa on Tuesday night for a non-conference matchup. It'll kick off a busy week as the Trojans also travel to New Berlin Friday night before a road matchup with Tolono Unity Saturday.
