Maroa-Forsyth Rolls North Mac

Four players scored in double-figures and Maroa-Forsyth rolled North Mac 62-37 Friday night in Sangamo Conference high school boy's basketball action in Virden.

 

Zayn Giles scored 8 of his game-high 14 points in the first quarter helped the Trojans jump out to a quick14-8 lead after the first frame then the Maroa-Forsyth used a trio of triples to blow the game open to a 31-17 halftime lead.

 

Kaiden Maurer and Ethan Willoughby scored 11 points apiece and Eagan Franzed added ten to lead the Trojans in a balanced attack as they improve to 15-10 overall and 5-3 in league action.

 

The Trojans are at Argenta-Oreana tonight before they return home for its final two games of the regular season hosting Sullivan Tuesday night and the regular-season finale against PORTA Friday.

 

Maroa-Forsyth is the fourth seed in the Olympia subsectional. They'll play the winner of next Saturday's Regional quarterfinal matchup against Buffalo Tri-City in a Regional semifinal at Maroa-Forsyth High School on Tuesday, February 22.
