Maroa-Forsyth Rolls Argenta-Oreana

Egan Franzen scored 19 of his game-high 23 points in the first half helping Maroa-Forsyth in a back-and-forth first half to beat Argenta-Oreana 82-57 in non-conference high school boys' basketball action from Argenta-Oreana Middle School Saturday night.

 

The Bombers led 20-17 after one quarter but the Trojans dropped 25 points, led by Franzen's 10 in the frame, and used a quad of three-pointers to open up a 34-29 lead at the half then led 64-37 after a 28-8 third quarter. 

 

Jaxson Grubbs scored nine of his 18 points in the third quarter. Ethan Willoughby scored seven of 11 points in the third quarter while Kaeden Maurer scored six of his 10 in the big third for the Trojans. Connor Kelly came off the bench and buried a trio of triples to finish with nine points.

 

Landon Lawson scored 11 of his team-high 17 points in the first half and Jamario Barbee added 11 points for the Bombers.

 

The Bombers drop to 6-18 overall while the Trojans are 16-10 overall. Maroa-Forsyth finishes the regular season next week with home games against Sullivan Tuesday and PORTA Friday night.
