Monticello Up A Spot in Latest 2A Poll

The Monticello High School boy's basketball team is up a spot in the latest Class 2A state rankings.

 

In a three-way tie for seventh, the Sages are up a spot with Chicago Perspectives Charter Leadership and Rockford Lutheran.

 

Chicago Leo is the top team in 2A followed by DePaul College Prep, El Paso-Gridley, Chicago Clark, and Nashville round out the top 5. Breese Central checks in at No. 6 this week and Chicago Orr rounds out the top 10.

 

In the latest Class 1A poll, Meridian is down to No. 7 this week from No. 4 last week. Tuscola is new to the poll this week tied for ninth with Peoria Christian and Steeleville. 

 

Scales Mount remains the top team in the state. Yorkville Christian and Fulton swapped spots for no. 2 and no. 3, respectively. Liberty is up a spot to No. 4 and Altamont is new the poll this week, all the way to No. 5, tying with Concord Triopia to round out the top 5.

 

In Class 3A, Chicago Simeon is the top team. Hillcrest, East St. Louis, Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin and Hyde Park round out the top 5. SHG received a first-place vote.

 

Harvey Thornton, Burlington Central, Centralia, Chicago Mt. Carmel and Marian Catholic round out the top 10.

 

In Class 4A, Glenbard West is the unanimous No. 1 team.
