Monticello Goes for Sectional Title Tonight

The Monticello Sages boy's basketball team will look to punch its first ticket to a Supersectional appearance since 2017 when they take on El Paso-Gridley for a Sectional title tonight in Clifton in high school boy's basketball Class 2A postseason action.

Monticello needed a late rally-in to get by Herscher 37-25. EPG pulled away late from St. Joseph-Ogden to win 45-32.

Both the Sages and the Titans were ranked in the Class 2A polls last week. EPG was No. 4 while Monticello was No. 6, so tonight's matchups should be a realy heavyweight battle.

The Titans enter play 28-2 overall while Monticello is 30-3.
