HS Baseball: Decatur St. Teresa Blanks Clinton

Joe Brummer threw seven shutout innings and the Decatur St. Teresa Bulldogs adjusted to a last-minute game change and blanked Clinton 5-0 in Central Illinois Conference high school boy's baseball action Tuesday afternoon in Clinton.

 

Tuesday's conference matchup was set to be played in Decatur but rains south of Clinton forced the game to Clinton High School early in the afternoon Tuesday.

 

Brummer struck out 13 en route to the complete-game shutout. He issued four walks and allowed just one hit. 

 

Dominick Thayer got the start on the mound for the Maroons and allowed two runs on three hits in four innings of work. He issued two walks and struck out five. Josh Carter finished the final three innings allowing three runs, two were earned, on two hits with three walks and struck out five. 

 

Payton Cross had the only hit for the Maroons.

 

Clinton is 1-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play. They'll host Sullivan Thursday afternoon.
