HS Softball: Fisher Doubles Up Clinton

The Clinton Lady Maroons got off to a fast start but could not hold off the Fisher Lady Bunnies in a 12-6 loss in non-conference high school girl's softball action from Fisher Wednesday afternoon.

The Lady Maroons put a 3-spot on the board right away in the first inning but Fisher rallied with four runs in the bottom half of the frame to go up 4-3 after one.

Two more runs in the top of the second inning put Clinton up 5-4 but Fisher tied the game with a run in the bottom half of the frame.

Clinton would answer with another run in the top of the third but Fisher put four runs up in the bottom of the third inning to go up 9-6 and ran away and hid from there.

The Ladies Maroons offense came alive again Wednesday after a season-best performance Tuesday against Decatur St. Teresa, albeit in a losing effort.

Chloe Griffin was strong again for Clinton leading the way offensively finishing 3-for-4 with a run batted in and a run scored. Ari Humes drove in three with a 1-for-3 afternoon while Brooke Reeves, Heidi Humble and Sarah Mills each had two hits apiece. Reeves and Humes both doubled.
