Maroons Edge Central A&M

The Clinton Maroons scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and came away with a walk-off 3-2 victory over Central A&M Monday evening in Central Illinois Conference high school boy's baseball action from Clinton High School.

 

Wes Harrold brought the game-winning home on an RBI single as Clinton overcame an 11 strikeout performance from Gavin Houchins from the Raiders. 

 

Josh Carter went the distance for Clinton allowing two unearned runs and stuck out three, walking two and permitting six hits in his first victory of the season. 

 

Clinton committed five errors.

 

Monday's matchup with Central A&M was a makeup of a previous rainout and replaced Champaign Centennial. 

 

The Maroons are now 2-3 overall and 2-2 in the Central Illinois Conference. Clinton will host Shelbyville in CIC action Tuesday. Hear the action on The Big 1520 AM/92.3 FM/106/5 FM WHOW and online at dewittdailynews.com.
