Coach Binkley Ready to Get Rolling With Maroons

The Clinton High School boy's basketball team last Thursaday afternoon made a big splash when they hired former Warrensburg-Latham boy's basketball coach Vic Binkley.

Coach Binkley is ready to get started with his new team and says he spoke with officials from Clinton Schools over the last few weeks and he and his wife felt it would be a great move for them.

Coach Binkley plans to bring his acclaimed 1-2-2 full court press and a 2-3 half-court zone defense to Clinton. He says while those defenses are what he's known for he's not afraid throw the kitchen sink out there.

Coach Binkley says relationships with kids, parents and school leaders is the number one thing and looks forward to getting to know everyone within the program.

In 33 years at Warrensburg-Latham, Coach Binkley compiled a 583-351 record with 15 regional titles and two state tournament appearances.

Since 2000, the Clinton boy's basketball program has had one Regional title and just three winning seasons. Coach Binkley will be the Maroons coach in that same time frame.
