HS Baseball: Monticello No-Hits Tri-Valley in Five Innings

Jack Buckalew threw a five-inning no-hitter and roped the walk-off single in the bottom of the fifth inning as Monticello routed Tri-Valley 11-1 in a five-inning, ten-run rule win Tuesday in non-conference high school boy's baseball action from Monticello.

Buckalew struck out eight and allowed a run in five no-hit innings. With runners on second and third and one out in the bottom of the fifth inning, Buckalew also laced a single to left center field to bring home the tenth run and gave Monticello its second win in the last three games.

Jacob Trusner stayed hot for the Sages with a double and two RBIs. Biniam Lienhart doubled, stole a bag and had an RBI.

Monticello moves to 10-5 overall.

With a nice weather day sandwiched between Monday's rainout with Maroa-Forsyth and what looks to be another likely rainout today against Salt Fork, Monticello was able to secure an opponent and find umpires to get a game in.
