Mt. Pulaski Blanks Illini Bluffs

Evan Cooper fired a complete game, four-hit shutout as Mt. Pulaski blanked Illini Bluffs 2-0 in Tomahawk Conference high school boy's baseball action from Glasford Thursday afternoon.

Cooper struck out eight and walked two.

The bottom of the Hilltoppers order came up big as Gavin Smith and Kolin Gibbs brought in runs in the top of the second inning. Jackson Fricke finished 2-for-3.

After a brief two-game skid earlier this month, Mt. Pulaski has rebounded to win three of its last five games. They'll host a pair of 3A Central State Eight teams to finish out the week with Springfield Southeast at home this afternoon and Springfield Lanphier in Springfield on Saturday morning.
