Three pitchers combined for a three-hit shutout and the middle of the order stayed hot for Monticello who blanked Paxton-Buckley-Loda 9-0 in Illini Prairie Conference high school boy's baseball action Thursday from Paxton.
Luke Teschke struck out four across two scoreless innings walking three and allowed two hits. Spencer Mitze fired three scoreless, one-hit innings with four strikeouts and a walk. Triston Foran finished off the win with two perfect innings and four strikeouts.
Jacob Trusner continued his recent hot streak with a 3-for-4 afternoon with a double and three RBIs. Joey Sprinkle and Thomas Swartz doubled collecting two hits apiece and Jack Buckalew tripled, walked twice and scored twice for Monticello.
Teschke and Swartz finished 2-for-3 each with a pair of RBIs apiece.
