The Mt. Pulaski Hilltoppers picked up a pair of solid victories Friday and Saturday last week holding off Springfield Southeast 6-4 Friday afternoon and rolling Springfield Lanphier 15-0 Saturday morning.

AJ Bailey and Landon Smith combined to hold off Southeast as Bailey fired three innings of three-run ball and Smith went four innings allowing an unearned run.

Evan Cooper drove in two and Smith finished 2-for-4 Friday. Clayton Aylesworth and Gavin Smith each recorded hits and the Hilltoppers drew eight walks Friday afternoon. 

Jackson Fricke paced Mt. Pulaski Saturday with three runs batted in. Bailey and Smith scored three times and Aylesworth drove in three as well. 

Gavin Smith fired four scoreless, one-hit innings in the five-run ten-run rule route. 

Mt. Pulaski improves to 13-3 overall. They embark on another busy week starting things out with Springfield Lutheran this afternoon in Springfield followed by a Tomahawk Conference tilt with Hart-Em on Tuesday. 

The Hilltoppers take on LeRoy on Thursday afternoon followed by Bloomington Cornerstone Christian on Friday and battle North Greene on Saturday.
