HS BBall: St. T Gets By Clinton

Decatur St. Teresa's Matt Brummer and Clinton's Jaxson White dueled across six innings but it was the Bulldogs capitalizing on Maroons mistakes as St. T downed Clinton 5-2 in Central Illinois Conference boy's baseball action Monday afternoon in Decatur.

 

Brummer tossed six innings of one-run ball striking out 14 Maroons and walked two permitting eight hits. 

 

White allowed five runs but two were earned as the Maroons continued to struggle defensively, committing five errors. Whtie struck out three and walked three while permitting eight hits.

 

Joe Brummer closed out the win for the Bulldogs. 

 

Wes Harrold paced the Maroons offense going 4-for-4 with a double. Mason Walker went 3-for-4 and Dom Thayer finished 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.

 

Brummer finished 3-for-3 for St. T.

 

The Maroons fall to 4-6 overall and 4-5 in the CIC. They'll continue conference play Wednesday afternoon at Sullivan.
