HS Softball: Argenta-Oreana Pulls Away Late From Clinton

Michelle Hollon and Miriah Powell hit a home runs leading Argenta-Oreana past Clinton 14-4 in a six-inning, ten-run rule win in non-conference high school girl's softball action Tuesday in Argenta.

 

Hollon finished 4-for-4 with three RBIs and scored twice helping overcome her early struggles in circle. She lasted just a third of an inning giving up three runs on four hits. 


Powell finished the final 5 2/3 innings allowing an unearned run and struck out seven. She drove in three runs. 

 

Kianna Easton doubled and drove in three to lead the Lady Maroons

Ava Armstrong drove in four runs from the nine-spot in the batting order finishing 4-for-4 with four doubles for the Lady Bombers.

 

Brooke Reeves went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored for Clinton.

 

The Bombers are 11-4 overall. They'll host Cerro Gordo-Bement in Lincoln Prairie action this afternoon. 

 

The Lady Maroons falter to 2-14 overall. They travel to Sullivan for Central Illinois Conference action this afternoon.
