Sullivan scored seven unanswered runs late to rally past Clinton 8-5 in Central Illinois Conference high school girl's softball action Wednesday from Sullivan.

The Lady Maroons led 2-1 after the first inning and added three runs in the fourth to go up 5-1 but the Lady Redskins put a 5-spot on the board in its half of the fifth inning to go up 6-5 and added insurance runs in the fifth and sixth innings, holding off the Lady Maroons the rest of the way.

Heidi Humble and Chloe Griffin paced the Lady Maroons offense, each finishing 3-for-3 with a pair of RBIs. Humble scored twice. Ari Humes was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored and Morgan Fortune had a base hit. 

Clinton drops to 2-14 overall and 1-8 in the CIC. 

The Lady Maroons will travel to Shelbyville Friday afternoon.
