The Tri-Valley Lady Vikings used a nine-run fourth inning surge to rout Clinton 17-2 in a four-inning, 15-run rule win in non-conference high school girl's softball action from Downs Monday afternoon.

The Lady Maroons put a run on the board in the first but the Lady Vikings quickly got it back with a three-run first inning, then went up 5-1 after two innings and 8-1 after three innings. 

The Lady Maroons cut the deficit to 8-2 in the top of the fourth but gave up nine runs in the Tri-Valley half of the frame to end the game.

Brooke Reeves, Chloe Griffin, Heidi Humble, and Alaina Soberalski recorded hits for Clinton and Griffin had the lone Lady Maroons RBI.

Clinton falls to 2-15 overall and is scheduled to host Warrensburg-Latham this afternoon.
