Monticello scored ten rus in the second innings and rolled past Oakwood 13-3 in non-conference high school boy's baseball action from Monticello Wednesday afternoon.

Wednesday's game was an impromptu addition to the schedule earlier in the week. 

Triston Foran, Jacob Trusner and Luke Teshke drove in three runs apiece. Foran and Trusner each finished 1-for-3 with two runs scored and Teschke was 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored. Each hit a double.

Biniam Lienhart reached base four times going 3-for-3 with a walk and scored three times. 

Joey Sprinkle went three innings for Monticello allowing three runs, one was earned, striking out four and walking two while permitting a hit. Foran finished the final two innings striking out two and allowed two hits.

Monticello moves to 16-7 overall. They will host Rantoul Thursday afternoon in Illini Prairie Conference action. Hear the game on 95.9 FM WEZC and online at dewittdailynews.com.
