Ashley Armstrong returned to the circle for Clinton and the Lady Maroons scored the game's winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning to get past Central A&M 3-2 in Central Illinois Conference high school girl's softball action from Clinton Monday afternoon.

Armstrong struck out eight in a complete-game effort and allowed two runs, issued a walk and permitted nine hits. She also finished 1-for-3 with a double.

Chloe Griffin was 2-for-2 with a walk, a run scored and drove in a run. Alaina Soberalski was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. 

The Lady Maroons are 3-15 overall and improve to 2-8. They will host Warrensburg-Latham this afternoon.
