ISU Cannot Overcome Missouri State at Missouri Valley Tournament

The Illinois State baseball team had its season end with a 9-4 loss to Missouri State in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in a game that featured two rain delays, totaling more than four hours on Tuesday prior to postponement and a 13-minute rain delay at Hammons Field on Wednesday. The game concluded 20 hours and 50 minutes after starting.

 

Sophomore Ryan Cermak provided a key two-run double to put the 'Birds up, 4-2, in the 5th inning before the first delay (three hours and 33 minutes). Missouri State homered in four-straight innings to take control prior to the second delay (unofficially 35 minutes).

 

Illinois State finishes 2022 at 20-31.
