Despite Only Four Wins, Clinton High School Softball Program Excited About the Future

The Clinton Lady Maroons softball program only won four games (4-20) in 2022, but they are excited for the future.

Coach Andrea Rhoades was so pleased with the way the team continued to play hard, work together, and kept a positive attitude despite the struggles. She says the deck was stacked against them from day one as they battled a whole slew of injuries.

Coach Rhoades felt the team got better as the season went along and points out the competitiveness they played with offensively that by the end of the season they played Maroa-Forsyth within a run in a Regional semifinal.

Because of all the injuries, the Lady Maroons had several young players step up on and take on larger roles. Coach Rhoades says there are several young players that stepped up and rolled with the punches.

Coach Rhoades says there is a silverlining with every season like the one the Lady Maroons just endured and believes it was all the learning and growing they experienced that will make them better next year and beyond.
