Argenta-Oreana Bass Team Brings Home 2nd At ICASST State

A local High School Bass Fishing team recently brought home some state tournament hardware, and are now gearing up for nationals.

Last weekend the Illinois Bass Fishing Coaches Association held its Clash State Championship on Lake Springfield.  Brian Drendel, IBFCA President, explains it's the first year for their state series to wrap up on Springfield, and the two day event went great...

Argenta-Oreana High School's Garrett White and Chase Logue brought home second place, and had the tournament's biggest fish - a six pounder that Chase reeled in on Saturday....

The Top 7 Clash finishers qualify for the Bassmasters High School National Championship on Lake Hartwell in South Carolina this August.  Garrett is excited for the experience...

Again, a team from Downer's Grove North took home the championship, edging out Argenta-Oreana by a matter of ounces.  This was the first in a three year agreement with the City of Springfield to host the Clash Championship.  You can learn more about the ICASST ((I-cast)) state high school bass fishing series at ibfca.org.
