Normal West Football Looking To Take Step Forward This Season

After finishing 6-3 and making the 6A postseason, the Normal West Wildcats football team is looking to build on what a young team did in the fall of 2021.

Head Coach Nathan Fincham says it was a steep learning curve for a young team competing in the Big 12 and says the vibes around the program coming into this season are very positive.

According to Coach Fincham, they pushed their team a little more than they usually would in hopes of moving the kids farther along. He hopes to be able to throw the ball a little more this fall and use their team speed.

Monday opens the new season for the fall of 2022 and Coach Fincham is hoping his team comes to practice every day with consistency and keeps their edge in the weeks leading up to the season.

Coach Fincham says the Big 12 should be very balanced, maybe more balanced than normal. He hopes the balance of the conference will pave the way for the teams of the conference to succeed in the postseason.
