Young Clinton High School Golf Teams Looking to Build on Early Success

An incredibly young Clinton Maroons boy's golf team came out in 2021 and won the Central Illinois Conference and now they have their sites set on bigger things in 2022.

First-year head coach Chase Reynolds was very pleased with the way his young golfers approached the summer pointing out after a year of great success, several golfers registered for summer tournaments in central Illinois.

According to Coach Reynolds, with the success of last year's team and the talent level, he is focused on things like teaching the kids to control their misses.

Coach Reynolds says it is a fun dynamic with this young group because a couple of the golfers joke with him about coming for his school record. He notes it is their goal to repeat as conference champions, get out of Regionals as a team, and have a couple of golfers make the State Tournament.
