LeRoy Football Hoping Lessons from 2021 Will Move Program Forward in 2022

The LeRoy Panthers football program doesn't often have a prolonged run without a playoff appearance and longtime coach BJ Zeleznik says he has a young group that could help them get back to the postseason this year.

Coach Zeleznik says his team played a lot of close games in 2021 and with a smaller junior and senior class, they have some young players that could step into some more substantial roles this fall.

The dynamics of his team to the approach of the summer didn't change for Coach Zeleznik. He explains the weight room, like most programs, was a point of emphasis. He notes they needed renewed commitment to the offseason training program.

According to Coach Zeleznik, while it isn't a big senior group this year, he applauds their commitment to the program and their dedication to being excellent on the field. His team will, once again, rely heavily on the run.

With high school football heading to a lot of spread-like offenses, Coach Zeleznik admits his holdout on the run-heavy style is the rarity but says it's what they've done, and done well for many years and they will stick to it.

The Panthers open the season at Central A&M.
