Dave Remmert has had been wildly successful in his tenure as the cross country coach in Monticello and while he has one of the smallest groups he's ever had, he feels it is just as strong as any other.

It starts with Mabry Bruhn on the girl's team whom Coach Remmert calls the best runner he's ever coached. She has already experienced a great deal of success in both cross country and track.

According to Remmert, the fall of 2021 was nice to get back to a regular season. The girl's placed sixth in state and the boy's tenth. He was very pleased with the progress of last year's boy's team.

While Bruhn highlights the girl's squad and will be the one to gain a lot of attention, Coach Remmert has been pleased with the progress the boy's team has shown already and is excited about the things they could accomplish. 

The Sages head to Champaign St. Thomas More Saturday for its first meet of the season.
