After Just Missing Postseason in 2022, Lincoln Railers Football Hungry To Get Started

After back-to-back seasons of 4-5 records and a 'win-and-in' scenario in week 9 last year, the Lincoln Railsplitters football program is hungry to get over the hump this year. Coach Matt Silkowski says he an inexperienced team in 2022 and his players worked hard this offseason.

Coach Silkowski likes that this group is very competitive. He explains this summer he did a lot more with 7-on-7 competitions and even joint practices with other teams.

Heading into the fall of 2022, Coach Silkowski is impressed with the selflessness of the team. He points out with a bigger group, they adjusted some positions of players and there was buy-in almost across the board.

The Railers will be a run-first team and Coach Silkowski makes no bones about it, if they don't have to throw the ball, they won't. He says they are introducing a new defensive scheme. He calls it simple stuff but they will be going to a 4-3.

The Railers open the season Friday night taking on Clinton.
