NASCAR Cup Series Concludes Regular Season at Daytona

Kyle Larson's pass of Hendrick Motorsports teammate Chase Elliott on the first lap of a restart with five laps to go and won at Watkins Glen last week was the talk of the NASCAR world all week as the playoff chase heats up in the final regular season race this Saturday at Daytona.

Ryan Blaney won after starting sixth last year in the fall race. Blaney is 25 points ahead of Martin Truex Jr. for the final playoff spot if there’s not a 16th different winner in the final race of the regular season.

Larson’s victory was his second of the season and the 11th in a row for Chevrolet on a road course.

Elliott clinched the regular season title and Larson moved to second in the points race. He’s the eighth multiple race winner of the season.

Practice and qualifying are this afternoon at 4 pm. The 400 mile, 160 lap race drops the green flag Saturday night at 6 pm.

The XFinity Series races tonight at 6:30 pm.

The Camping World Truck Series returns Friday, Sept. 9 at Kansas for the final race of the round of 10 the playoffs.
