Minor Changes to Latest High School Football Polls

The top of the latest Class 2A and 3A high school football polls remain largely unchanged for a second straight week.

 

In Class 2A, Wilmington, Decatur St. Teresa, Maroa-Forsyth, Bismarck-Henning, and North Mac remain the top five for a second straight week. 

 

Rockridge and Tri-Valley are up a spot to 6-7, respectively. Knoxville moved down to no. 8 from no. 6 last week and Carmi White County and Johnston City round out the top ten in Class 2A.

 

IC Catholic, Williamsville, Reed-Custer, Princeton, and Byron are the top five teams Class 3A again this week. Mt. Carmer, Prairie Central, and Eureka remained unchanged at 6-8 while Seneca and Paxton-Buckley-Loda swapped spots at 9-10 to round out the top 10.

 

In Class 1A, Ridgeview moved up a spot to take over No. 2 this week. Lena-Winslow remains the unanimous no. 1 while Camp Point Central and Hope Academy tied for third this week. Athens dropped from no. 2 to no. 5 this week.

 

Shelbyville is up to no. 6 this week from the eighth last week. St. Bede, Greenfield-Northwestern, Fulton, and Ottawa Marquette round out the top ten. 

 

Tuscola fell from this week's rankings in Class 1A.

 

Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin takes over no. 1 this week in Class 4A. Richmond-Burton, Joliet Catholic, St. Francis, and Rochester round out the top 5. Stillman Valley, Wheaton Academy, Carterville, Genoa-Kingston, and Macomb remain unchanged rounding out the top 10.

 

The top four teams in Class 5A all received votes for first place in this week's poll. Morris remained no. 1 with six first-place votes followed by Kankakee with four first-place votes. Sycamore and Mahomet-Seymour swap spots in the poll at 3-4, respectively, each receiving a first-place vote. 

 

Peoria remains at no. 5 in this week's poll. Chicago Morgan Park, Glenbard South, Highland, LaGrange Park Nazareth, and Sterling round out the top 10.

 

In Class 6A, Chatham-Glenwood remains no. 7 in this week's poll. Normal West re-enters the poll at no. 10. East St. Louis is the unanimous no. 1 team again this week and Champaign Centennial received a vote in this week's poll but did not make the top 10.

 

Pekin Remains no. 5 this week in Class 7A. Hersey jumped from no. 9 to no. 2 this week. Chicago Mt. Carmel remains the unanimous no. 1 team in 7A 

In Class 8A, Loyola Academy is no. 1 again this week.
